Meet the teamOur core project team is based at the Conflict and Civil Society Research Unit (CCSRU) at the London School of Economics and Political Science and is led by Dr Rim Turkmani with support from Professor Mary Kaldor, head of the Unit. We also have team members in the region and in Europe. The project also benefits from the vision and advice of an advisory board of senior academics, policy, media and expert figures.

Lyse Doucet is award winning BBC Presenter and Chief International Correspondent. She covers the Middle East in her correspondence and reported several times from inside Syria. She made and presented three documentaries on Syria.
George Papandreou
George Papandreou is a Greek politician who served as Prime Minister of Greece from 2009 to 2011. He is currently serving as an MP for Movement for Change. He has been President of the Socialist International since January 2006
Dr Bassam Haddad

Bassam Haddad is Director of the Middle East and Islamic Studies Program and Associate Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. He is also the Executive Director of the Arab Studies Institute and the Founding Editor of the Knowledge Production Project and the Arab Studies Journal.
